Fall at my house
Holy cow it has been chilly here this week. Perfect fall weather to decorate the house! For fall, or any holiday for that matter, I like add touches to my already existing decor. My decorating style could be described as simple and comfortable. I am not into tearing the whole house apart for a season and putting it back together after the season is over. Trust me, I have done this a time or two in my life and it is not fun. Rather, I like to change simple things like pillows and blankets. Change out a picture, or add a pumpkin to some existing decor. So here is what the fall season looks like in my home this year.
I love using what I have around the house. Some candlesticks I had on my dining room table and a picture of a pumpkin my daughter painted.
I took the old books off of my dresser and added a fall sign.
My crate I had on my kitchen island was the perfect thing for the books and a pumpkin to create a fun display on my ottoman.
or in it for the center of the kitchen island.
I just added some sticks in my ball jar, and a fun apple resting on a candle stick.
My favorite thing to use in my decorating is my kid’s art. My daughter painted this pumpkin for me a couple of years ago and it has become a staple in my fall decor.
I took an old toolbox and filled it with pumpkins, greenery, and acorns to create a fall display on my dining room table.
I also love to add touches of fall to my hutch. The pumpkins, burlap chargers, white dishes, and apples defiantly speak fall to me.
I have added color and texture by using throws and pillows in my family room. Makes the space feel warm and cozy.
So my tip for decorating for fall is that it doesn’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to tear the whole house apart. The whole room doesn’t have to scream fall. Sometimes keeping it simple makes the biggest impact in any space.
