Fall touches – my dining room
My dining room is a fun room to decorate. I love adding touches of the season to that room because that is where we eat every night, and we can enjoy the space. I again went very simple this year. I wanted the room to have the feeling of fall, but not just be a fall room. So here are some fun touches I added this year to my space.
I added some fall dishes and pumpkins to the inside of my hutch and added some pumpkins on my small cabinet and dining room table.
I love adding pumpkins to the tops of candle sticks to add some height and interest. I took my apple pie tin from my kitchen and put it on my cabinet and drew a pumpkin sketch for my picture frame. All I did with the basket is added two white faux pumpkins.
I wanted a very simple tablescape this year. We eat at the table every night, and I didn’t want something too tall like a big floral arrangement. I found this cute pumpkin tea pot a few years back. The green on the tea pot went perfect with my green candles I had in my hutch. I took out my cake stand and added a porcelain pumpkin on top. I love the orange and green combination for fall.
I just added a small white pumpkin to my wreath and the room was finished.
There have been years when I have draped leaves and wheat and you name it everywhere, but as I have grown more into what makes me feel the most comfortable I have decided that for me simple is the best approach. I feel that small touches in a room make the greatest impact. I can see and enjoy the pieces I have without having things look too cluttered.
