Getting design inspiration through travel
I recently returned from an amazing trip to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and the UK. I spent a little over two weeks in Europe, and it was such a wonderful experience. Our daughter graduated from High School the spring of 2020 when everything shut down. We had planned on taking this trip June of 2020, but we were not able to make it until this year. We were ready for a trip, and I forgot how seeing different places gives me so much design inspiration. It was like I was on a creative high the whole trip. I came home with a ton of ideas, and feel creativly
I love the gardens everywhere we went. This is a spot in the Netherlands that we love to visit. I love the use of different plants, water, and textures. It was simply beautiful.
I love all the color everywhere I looked. Everything was so colorful and beautifully designed. It is simply classic design.
This is in Brugge Belgium. It is a small quaint town that is so stunning. I love the colors, the architecture, the way the plants grow on the side of the walls, the water….All of it!
Design inspiration is everywhere in Paris. What I loved the most apart from the architecture, were the colors. I loved the black and white marble floors in Versaille with the blue gray door color. There are so many different shades of beautiful creams and grays. So much color inspiration.’
Blenheim Palace. It was like I was in a painting. I have never seen such beauty. I love how green and lush the UK is. I love all the different shades of green, yellow, blue, gray, and purple you see put together. It was a very “designed” forest.
Oxford and the Cotswolds provided me with so much English garden inspiration. I loved loved the houses, shapes, textures, plants, flowers, and the placement of the flowers in the gardens. Everything is so naturally designed and taken care of.
I came home with ideas, inspiration, and so much motivation. I am excited to get to work on my home soon!
